Tracer MR privacy policy
In short: Tracer MR has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The images you import and your settings stay on your headset. We never see your payment details, because purchases are handled by Meta.
Who we are
Tracer MR is made by The Spatial Studios, an independent studio based in Peshawar, Pakistan (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Tracer MR on Meta Quest.
Information the app handles
- Images you import. When you choose an image from your headset’s gallery, Tracer MR opens that image so you can trace it. Preparing it (removing the background or extracting outlines) happens on your headset. Your images are not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Settings and placement. Your preferences, such as opacity, contrast and the position of your image, are saved on your headset so they are ready next time.
- Your surroundings. Tracer MR uses the headset’s mixed reality features, provided by Meta, to show your real surroundings and keep your image anchored to a surface. Anchors used to hold an image in place are stored on your headset. Tracer MR does not record, store or send images from your headset’s cameras.
- Hand and controller input. The app uses the position of your controllers or hands, as reported by the headset, to let you place and adjust images. This input is used in the moment and is not stored or sent anywhere.
Information we do not collect
Tracer MR does not ask for your name, email address or any account. It does not include analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share personal information.
Purchases
The premium upgrade is sold through the Meta Quest Store. Meta processes the payment, and the app only checks with Meta whether you own the upgrade. We never receive your payment details.
Meta’s platform
Tracer MR runs on Meta Quest and is distributed through the Meta Quest Store. Meta may collect information about your use of its devices, store and services under its own terms. That collection is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy, not this one.
Children
Tracer MR does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Meta’s own age requirements and parental controls apply to the use of Meta Quest headsets.
Deleting your data
Because your data stays on your headset, you are in control of it. Uninstalling Tracer MR removes its saved settings and anchors. Images in your headset’s gallery remain there until you delete them yourself.
Changes to this policy
If the way Tracer MR handles information changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that needs to send data, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
